This program began in 2010 as a joint program of the Kiwanis Club of Kitchener, Franklin Public School and St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Because of the success of the program and the many volunteers, in 2014 the Kiwanis Club of Kitchener opted to support another local Breakfast Club program. Today the Franklin / St. Luke’s Breakfast Club is supported by church and local volunteers and with financial grants from Nutrition For Learning, the school council and other local service clubs. Each day during the school year, some 40-50 children who attend Franklin Public School receive a healthy breakfast before they head off to school.
